Ubisoft has confirmed that a new patch for South Park: The Fractured But Whole on Switch has been submitted to Nintendo. A number of important issues will be addressed, including a problem in which some players’ save files were reset.

We have the full patch notes and notice from Ubisoft below. When it’s live, we’ll be sure to let you know.

We’re committed to continued improvements to the game to give you the best experience possible and will soon release a patch for the Nintendo Switch. The patch has been submitted to Nintendo and the process for deployment usually takes two weeks. In the meantime, we ask that players continue to only use the first three save positions (not including the auto-save). You can find more details on safely moving to your first three save slots here.

Included in the upcoming Switch patch:

Resolved an infinite loading screen that might occur when entering the D-Mobile building.
Fixed an issue that caused some players’ save files to be reset.
Fixed a possible freeze if the player starts the Danger Deck DLC.
Fixed a freeze that may occur when skipping a cinematic at the New Kid’s parents’ door.
Resolved various minor bugs.

When you subscribe to Ubisoft+, you can continue using your existing South Park: Fractured But Whole saved games, but there are specific situations that could make the save game incompatible after unsubscribing from Ubisoft+. Before going into the details, one step you can take to mitigate any issue is to make a backup of your save files. When using South Park: Fractured But Whole save files with the Ubisoft+ version of the game, all the Downloadable Content (DLC) included in the Ubisoft+ version is added to the save file. At this point, that save file will become incompatible with versions of the game that do not have the DLCs. This means, if - you unsubscribe from Ubisoft+ and - do not own the DLCs,you will lose the progression you had in the Ubisoft+ version of the game. If you find yourself in this situation, there are some options:- If, at any point in the future, you get access to the DLCs (through owning the Season Pass, for example, or renewing your subscription), these save files will be usable again. - If you have a save file that wasn't loaded and overwritten within the Ubisoft+ version of the game, you will be able to load this save (though your progression within the Ubisoft+ version of the game will be lost) For any further questions, feel free to contact us!
